Interpretation before validation
The interpretation is established before drilling results are incorporated into the interpretation workflow.
Drilling results may subsequently be used for independent validation and assessment of interpretation performance.
The interpretation should not be retrospectively modified simply to reproduce known drilling results.

Data quality
Input quality is assessed before interpretation.
Where available data are technically unsuitable for reliable interpretation, the project may be declined or its scope limited.

Model integrity
The interpretation model is treated as an analytical result.
Presentation settings may be changed for visualisation purposes. Such changes do not constitute changes to the underlying interpretation.
Traceability
Interpretation should remain traceable from data to recommendation. This provides the basis for technical review.
