The Challenge Review identifies assumptions, uncertainties, alternative explanations and questions requiring independent validation.

A strong interpretation should survive difficult questions
For this reason, Rockline may provide an optional Challenge Review as a separate part of the project documentation.
The purpose is not to strengthen the marketing case.
The purpose is to identify questions that could weaken the interpretation.
Questions may include
What alternative geological explanation exists?
Which observations are directly supported by the data?
Which conclusions are interpretive?
Where does uncertainty remain?
What information would most efficiently reduce that uncertainty?
Which assumptions require independent validation?
What would falsify the current interpretation?
What would drilling need to demonstrate?
Which parts of the interpretation are robust and which are provisional?
Why include inconvenient questions?
An interpretation becomes stronger when its limitations are visible. The Challenge Review is therefore intended to function as an internal technical stress test. It does not replace independent geological review.
